Does your idea of a good time involve curling up with a good paperback? Do you adore the smell of weathered paper and the feel of gently dog-eared pages so often found in used books? Or perhaps you have a special bookworm in your life. Join your fellow bibliophiles and lovers of the written word at the 2017 Gaithersburg Book Festival – a celebration of literary excellence!
The festival will be held on Saturday, May 20, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the grounds of City Hall in Olde Towne Gaithersburg.
Now in its eighth year, the festival has earned a reputation as one of the best literary events in the country. This year’s lineup features more than 100 best-selling and award-winning authors, who will participate in panel discussions and book signings throughout the day.
Other activities will include writing workshops; a Children’s Village; an announcement about winners of a local high school short story contest; onsite sales of new and used books; literary exhibitors; and food, drinks, ice cream, and more. Admission and shuttle service from the Shady Grove Metro and Lakeforest Mall are free.
