Check Out the Gaithersburg Labor Day Parade!

Sure, Labor Day weekend is popular for cookouts and end-of-summer vacations. However, if you’re staying local, come out and have a blast at the celebrated Gaithersburg Labor Day Parade – which will return to the streets of Olde Towne on Monday, September 5, at 1 p.m.

Now in its 78th year, this rain-or-shine event includes ethnic dance groups, antique cars and fire trucks, clowns, high school marching bands, and an assortment of community groups, equestrian units, and more.

During the parade, free parking will be available in the Olde Towne garage, located at the corner of Olde Towne and Summit Avenues. Accessible parking for those with disability placards or plates is available behind the Victor Litz store on the north side of Diamond Avenue, and behind the Shell station on Summit Avenue. A shuttle bus will also be available from the Lakeforest Shopping Center transit station to Gaithersburg Elementary School beginning at noon.
